Membership
Frequently asked questions about membership:
WHAT IS A FRIENDS MEMBERSHIP, ANYWAY?
A Friends’ membership is a yearly, monetary gift from you which allows us to fund Library programming (i.e. Discover Summer). We pay for new equipment, sponsor author visits, acquire rare and valuable books for the collection, and lobby for the Library. All of these things are outside the Library’s budget. Your membership helps us achieve these ends.
I’M CONFUSED. AREN’T I A ‘FRIEND’ IF I HAVE A LIBRARY CARD?
Not quite. We love that so many Hamilton County residents are card holders, and we hope you avail yourself of the many services the Library offers, but becoming a Friend is the next step in supporting our Library.
ARE THEY ANY PERKS IF I JOIN?
Yes, indeed! Aside from the satisfaction of knowing you are helping us promote literacy and increase community access to information, there are benefits to you including:
- A 10% discount year-round at the Used Bookstore at the Warehouse (8456 Vine St in Hartwell) as well as enhanced discounts during special seasonal promotions (such as 20% during Members Month).
- Membership dues are tax deductible (we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization).
- The satisfaction of helping our Five-Star Library remain a leader in the delivery of library services, materials and programs.
DO YOU SHARE MY INFORMATION?
Absolutely not. We never disclose our donor information or sell our email lists.
